It Happened Today...

[From London Free Press, Canada]

1991 Whitney Houston performed The Star-Spangled Banner at the Super Bowl game -- sort of. What the crowd heard was a pre-recorded version while Houston and an orchestra performed on the field. A blend of Houston's live vocals and the pre-recorded version, released as a single, became a hit because of patriotism sparked by the Persian Gulf War.

All The Right Reasons...

[From New York Daily News]

Excert from Liz Smith's syndicated column:

WE'RE ALL KEYED UP for the Oscars Feb. 27, but an always sizzling show-biz event happens before that movie night of nights. Yes, we do mean Clive Davis' pre-Grammy fete at the Beverly Hills Hotel Feb. 12.

Now that the Oscars have been moved up to February instead of March, you can expect not only the creme de la creme of music, but a lot of actors hoping to snare a naked golden guy showing up for Clive. (OK, they will show up to be seen, but everybody loves Clive, anyway!)

I imagine, now that she is being produced once again by Clive, that Whitney Houston is a sure bet at this event. Her appearance at last year's American Music Awards, honoring Clive, her mentor and discoverer, was stunning. For all the right reasons.

March...

[From People Magazine]

Whitney Houston: BMG North America chair and CEO Clive Davis, the guru behind Houston's biggest hits, reteams with the singer in March to record what he calls an "album of Whitney Houston music." But will expected appearances on troubled hubby Bobby Brown's upcoming VH1 reality series, and historically erratic behavior, sideline her yet again? "Whitney knows that it's up to her," says Davis, who expects to beat the disappointing 1 million sales for 2002's Just Whitney... "Nobody has to lecture her. She knew what she was getting into when she came onto this." Just remember Whitney: "Crack is wack."

There is a small pic of her and Bobby. She is wearing a white top and her hair is short. Looks like it's from 2004.

Whitney 2005...

What do the stars have in store for 2005?

USA Today includes Whitney Houston in their report on the celebrities they have on their 'radar' for 2005:

After a stint in rehab, songbird Houston, 41, has declared 2005 to be her "new beginning." She returns to the spotlight this year with a new album produced by mentor Clive Davis and a concert tour. Does she still have it? Judging by her comeback performance at September's World Music Awards, we'd say things are looking up for Mrs. Bobby Brown.
