Daily Mail: Skintight dress leaves singer Whitney Houston suffering from a severe case of pot belly

With the terrible mauling she received from fans and critics alike after her disastrous UK tour, Whitney Houston might have bee expected to disappear for a while.
But the 46-year-old gamely pitched up on stage at a private gig at the ultra-exclusive Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat, in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, on the French Riviera last night.

Unfortunately, her choice of dress, a very snug-fitting white dress, only served to highlight how she's filled out with age and unhealthy living.

Sadly, it accentuated her pot belly as she sang her hits to the gathered audience at the exclusive five-star hotel in the French Riviera.

Miss Houston has just finished her tour of the UK, finishing up in London at the weekend, where she was performing at the O2 arena in Greenwich.

She was accused of a poor show in London, with fans complaining about her lack of vigour and under par singing.   Whitney has refused to quit smoking and, according to her her Australian promoter she is comfortable with the way her tour is going.

Andrew McManus explained: 'God bless her, I can’t tell her not to. She said, "If the good Lord wants me to be attacked and ridiculed that’s the road I have to go down".'
This is despite having to issue an apology to fans for her lacklustre performance in London over the weekend.

One Daily Mail fan commented: 'I went last night with my sis in law and we both were feeling rather emotional seeing her struggle on stage. We love her and her music so much we tried to shout out to her encouraging her to sing on. It is hard to watch, I could see many people leaving with disappointment on their faces, she needs to find a new direction.'

Another fan said: 'I'd been looking forward to it for months but when Whitney came on stage she was a shadow of her former self and just couldn't hit the notes. It's clear the drug abuse has taken its toll and I don't think she'll ever be the same again.'

Whitney tried to explain away her disappointing appearance by blaming theair-conditioning in the arena.   During the show, she was alleged to have told the crowd: 'She doesn't want to come, my soprano friend.

'Sometimes the old girl sings, but not tonight. I want to do it, but she doesn't want to ... She's getting a little temperamental.'  She the signalled to organisers to help her out, saying: 'Turn the air-con off. I can feel it. It takes away my soprano.'
