Bobby Brown...

[Billboard Online Report]

Judge: No Bail For Bobby Brown

Bobby Brown was deemed a flight risk by a Florida judge on Monday (May 22), and ordered to remain in custody until a scheduled June 19 hearing. Brown pleaded not guilty to charges he violated his probation, stemming from a 1998 drunken driving conviction in the state, a spokesperson for the court confirms.

Brown was returned to Broward County Jail following Circuit Judge Leonard Feiner's refusal to grant the R&B singer bail while awaiting the next round of hearings. Whitney Houston, Brown's wife, did not attend the hearing.

Brown was arrested May 10 on an outstanding warrant at an airport in Newark, N.J., upon returning from a trip to the Bahamas. The warrant was issued last June after his probation officer reported he tested positive for cocaine.

Note: See The Report On The Newsfile Dated 12 May 2000 - Bobby Brown was not arrested in Newark, he returned to Florida of his own accord.
