Bobby Brown Collapses At Home While Working On New Album

R&B singer Bobby Brown -– better known these days as Mr. Whitney Houston -– collapsed after having a seizure while working in his studio at his suburban New Jersey home early Wednesday (Aug. 8), according to the singer's spokesperson, Nancy Seltzer.

Houston called 911 around 3 a.m. after Brown collapsed, and accompanied the singer to Morristown, N.J., Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released. Brown refused to submit to blood or urine samples during the 90-minute visit. A spokesperson for the hospital would not reveal the exact condition for which Brown was treated, citing patient confidentiality.

"He was literally working nonstop for three to four days recording his new album," said Seltzer in a statement on Thursday. "He was getting in the groove. He hadn't been getting enough fluid, and, basically, he was lightheaded." Seltzer added that the "mind-boggling" heat and humidity was the culprit. Brown is currently back at home resting.

The former New Edition star has not released an album since 1997's Forever.
